Trezo: Your AI Money Companion

Year

2026

Trezo is an AI-powered money companion that connects to your bank and learns how you spend, turning raw transactions into patterns you can actually act on. It securely links accounts through Open Banking, then surfaces what it notices - weekend overspending, late-night orders, impulse spikes and helps you build better habits through spending challenges, smart lists, and a conversational assistant you can simply ask about your money.

I designed the end-to-end product experience, from bank-connection onboarding and goal setting to the home feed, Spend Review, transaction tagging, and the Money and Challenges flows.

The core design challenge was emotional, not financial: money apps usually make people feel judged, so insights had to build self-awareness without shame. I gave Trezo a friendly character and a warm, conversational voice that reframes spending as something to understand rather than feel guilty about, most clearly in Spend Review, where users rate purchases as "regret" or "loved" and see what skipping the regrets would have saved them. Privacy reassurance is built into every step ("I can never move your money"), and small celebratory moments turn routine actions like categorizing a transaction into a sense of progress, making a typically stressful category feel light, personal, and worth returning to.
